What a Glorious Garden
As Summer draws to a close, our budding gardeners have been marvelling at the abundant plant life in the Ranelagh Garden. Kyle, in Year 5, couldn't believe the size of the sunflowers he'd planted in Spring. "They are taller than the Year 6 girls!" Kyle said, adding "it's great to see what I've grown and the amount of sunflower seeds inside the head" (or capitulas as he will learn in Science this year).
The garden has been a treasure trove of learning for children in our school. Boasting a wide range of plants and different vegetation, from climber and runner beans, to potatoes and tomatoes, the aim is that the children will use what they grow outside, in our lessons inside, as the children learn to cook and make healthy meals.
