Ranelagh Goes Royal
Last week Ranelagh was transformed into an elegant castle bustling with Kings, Queens, Princes, Princesses (and everything regal in between) as Key Stage One held their own Royal Banquet. Festooned with Tudor and medieval decorations, our very own ground floor lunch hall became quite the site to behold.
All of Year 1 and 2, inspired by their learning in the Ranelagh Curriculum, created and attended their very own 'Royal Banquet' complete with music, drink and dancing. The 'Ranelagh Royals' enjoyed medieval and Tudor dancing while they dined and were waited on, hand and foot, by their servants and paiges Mrs. Sheikh, Mrs. Begum, Mrs. Patel and even our Deputy Head Mrs. Welburn.

The day was a full celebration of all things noble: the children created their own music, decorated Tudor roses, sketched famous artefacts that could be found in a castle and they even used their D&T skills to create a moving picture of a castle!
After the feast, the children played jester as they tried to entertain an audience by jousting and juggling. Niyema, in Year 2, declared the day an enormous success, saying "Ranelagh has become a palace! I love learning about the Tudors and I can't wait to learn even more!"
