Reading Week at Ranelagh
We love reading at Ranelagh, and this week gave us the chance to spend even more time on reading for pleasure and fun.
Pop up bookshop
This week, thanks to the kind donations of the Children's Book Project, all children got to choose another fabulous free book to keep. This week, for the first time ever, we had a pop-up bookshop in our Reading Room and children could choose either a story book or a fact book from the many on offer.
Benjamin in Year 6 said, "I chose a Roald Dahl book and I liked it so much I read it straight away. I think I'll read it again as its interesting.
Thanks again to the Children's Book Project for allowing us to participate. Children will get to choose another book in Summer 1.
During our reading mornings, when parents were able to come in and read to and with their children, children loved having their parents come in and read with them. They also enjoyed showing off their classrooms, and even their friends. It was superb to see so many of you share your love of reading and books with your children.
World Book Day
We ended the week with a celebration of World Book day. Children and staff came to school dressed as their favourite character or book. There were superheros, animals and the EYFS staff all dressed as characters from The Gruffalo.
We look forward to reading and sharing many more books and book characters with one another.
