A Ranelagh Royal Day!
The Kings and Queens of Ranelagh celebrated a grand royal day as part of their Ranelagh Curriculum topic, Kings and Queens and the Tudors. The KS1 children dressed in royal clothes and marked the day with a range of activities such as Tudor dancing, creating a Tudor Rose out of sourdough and designing their own coat of arms. It allowed them to experience life as a royal and expand on their knowledge of how the royals, like Henry VIII, lived in the past. Sharmeela, from Year 2, said 'I enjoyed making my Tudor Rose as it made me feel like a princess'. Yasin also said 'I can't believe the Tudors would eat only vegetables and meat because they didn't have much food in the past'. Overall, the day was thoroughly enjoyed by the staff and the children as they all enjoyed dressing up in multi-cultural Kings and Queens outfits to celebrate our annual Ranelagh Royal Day!
