Ranelagh's favourite day of the year, World Book Day, was not going to be stopped by Lockdown. A virtual assembly saw  all the children dressed as their favourite character hosted by Burglar Bill , then there was a special story from the Little Red Hen . This was followed by a live stream marathon of story books read by the teachers .

The afternoon's session kicked off with a reading and  re-enactment of Little Red Riding by Mrs Sheikh.

' Books are magical, ' one child said , ' you can go anywhere or be anything. '​
